Elevating aerial cinematography once again with a leap forward in both design and functionality is the Mavic 4 Pro Drone from DJI. The standard hanging gimbal of the previous generation is gone, replaced with a ball-shaped 360° Infinity Gimbal at the front of the body, improving the Mavic 4 Pro’s aerodynamics. Within, an upgraded triple-camera system. The wide-angle Hasselblad now offers 100MP stills, an adjustable aperture, and up to 6K60 HDR video. This is joined by a 48MP medium tele and 50MP standard tele for 4K60 HDR video. Low-light shooting is a big focus with a 0.1-lux nightscape omnidirectional obstacle avoidance system and front LiDAR. Additionally, video transmission, flight time, vertical shooting, and vehicle tracking have all been improved.
This version of the Mavic 4 Pro includes the 512GB Creator Combo, which features an upgraded remote and improved video capture capabilities over the standard release, along with a selection of additional accessories to keep you in the air longer. Unlike the standard Mavic 4 Pro’s built-in 64GB of capacity, the Creator Combo version has a built-in 512GB SSD drive. Along with the significant increase in storage, this Mavic 4 Pro supports 10-bit 4:2:2 video through All-I encoding for richer color detail, as well as time-lapse photography. Time-lapse shots can be done in intervals as short as one second.
The remote for this model is the RC Pro 2 instead of the RC 2, which features a bright 7″ Mini-LED screen. Other additional accessories include three total intelligent flight batteries, a parallel charging hub, four pair of spare propellers, a high-speed USB-C data cable, 240W power adapter, and a convenient shoulder bag to safely store and carry your gear.
Within the Infinity Gimbal are a trio of camera lenses that let pilots cover image and video capture of a huge variety of content, with an emphasis on nature, architecture, and wildlife. The most advanced is a Hasselblad-designed 100MP wide-angle lens with an adjustable aperture for capturing clean low-light shots and 10-ray starburst effects. Video tops out at a stunning 6K60 HDR with support for the Hasselblad natural Color Solution (HNCS), a renowned standard of color fidelity. It’s joined by a 48MP medium tele for compressed perspectives that highlight subjects for portraits, and a 50MP standard tele for incredibly clear long-range results that reduces depth perception and flattens perspective. All three share an enviable set of additional features.
